It was a long night. Hot to start with and then when the cool change arrived the wind arrived with it. We were all up and about around 7:00, packed up and heading for breakfast when the heavens opened. Hot yesterday and raining today. Nice.
Our breakfast experience was vastly different from dinner. A really nice egg and bacon roll and coffee served by friendly staff. Good work from The Alcove at Port Campbell.
Strangely we headed west to look at some sights. Our intrepid guide Ant was slightly geographically embarrassed. After establishing that the 12 Apostles were the other way we headed back into Port Campbell to refuel.
Scenic features abounded and after 3 or 4 stops we cleared the sights and headed up to Colac.
The road provided lots of corners and some great riding. A quick lunch stop and it was back to the coast and a left turn towards Apollo Bay.
The road here is wonderful. It's winds through forests and has the slow corner to provide plenty of fun.
There was no gravel and it had dried out after this mornings shower. We rolled into Apollo Bay fairly late in the day with only the final run up to Lorne left.
This bit was probably the best of the day. Max 80 kmh speed limit and lots of 40 and 50 km/h corners finished the day off.
We are moored up in Lorne where it's just started raining. Beers and dinner and a long run to Tidal River tomorrow.
