We have had a fabulous few days at Cobbold Gorge. Fabulous facilities, a great bar and restaurant and really quiet camping make this a place not to be missed if you are ever in this area. Every morning we headed up to the office to pay for another night. It really has been hard to leave.
Today we dragged ourselves away. It took to lunch time but we finally did go.
The camp was quite a social place with excellent facilities. Fellow campers included Helen and Max from Hobart who are in the Landrover club with ED and work with Murray. We didn't do much to dispel the myth that everyone in Hobart knows each other. Helen and Max had lots of useful information about solar panels and roads in the centre. Hopefully we will be able to catch up with them again when we return home.
On Sunday morning we did the gorge tour with Neville. The gorge is located on Robin Hood Station (cattle station). We walked up to a lookout where we could see down into the gorge before taking a boat tour up the gorge. The boats were custom built and have two small watersnake motors.
We spent the afternoon by the pool, despite being cold it was very pleasant.
Monday was slightly more active with a 4.5km walk to Russell's lookout. I have no idea who Russell is. We went for a kayak in the afternoon and then some more pool time.
