A Long Way to the Top - AC/DC

The excitement levels were high as we decamped for the northern most point of the Australian continent. Quite an achievement and a lot of planning to get here!
We passed through some more creeks before stopping for trinkets and a cold drink at the famous Croc Tent. The obligatory stubby holder was purchased. The owner of tent also provided detailed info on thecteacks aroundthe tip
The car park at the tip looked like an advertisement for Maxtrax so Hillary, ED and the homestead fitted right in. We walked the coastal route out around the headland to the tip and to our joy the sign marking the end of Oz was in place. Earlier in the morning some Tassies had used a permanent marker to add the missing Tasmania to the map so when we arrived our island home was in situ.
After champagne and many photographs we sat and enjoyed the one man show that is Dave.
Closer to home for the Homestead we saw the sign to Somerset. The remains of the old house are quite ruined and not so much to see.
Our next challenge was the 5 beaches run. After the initial downhill run the challenge was met and we drove over headlands and along beaches. Hillary suffered a breakage after collecting a low tree and busting off our roof mounted aerial.
Sundowners were enjoyed at Punsand Bay before returning to Loyalty Beach.
As a treat for making it to the tip we dined out, for a celebratory and presention dinner. Jordan congratulated the runners up and awarded Susan with the prestigious crown of closest creek crossing number guesser.
BTW our total number of creek crossings was 53.
