400 Miles from Darwin- The Whitlams

After a good night at the Low level Caravan Park in Katherine we popped into see the Gorge. A short walk around was enough for us and we left for one of our favourite spots, Edith Falls. Luckily we got there before lunch as it fills up very quickly. We spent the rest of the day swimming and reading.
We planned to stop at Batchelor the next day but it seemed that there was a big brushfire next to the park so we carried on into Darwin. A quick coffee stop at Emerald Springs Roadhouse was a nice suprise. From the outside its a bit rundown looking but after going through the side door it opens into a large restaurant area and bar. A top place stop if you are on the highway between Katherine and Darwin.
Howard Springs was our home for the night. Hillary needed some new tyres and the people at Bob Jane in Casuarina fitted them up for us.
Later on we caught up with Daz and Susan. His Hilux is just about ready to go!
Yesterday we shifted to our current accommodation in Cullen Bay. We are sharing an apartment with Croc for a couple of days.
Last night we returned to the Darwin Sailing Club. Another great sunset and meal reminded us of old times.
Today Hillary gets some tlc and some new bits.
Still hoping to head off tomorrow afternoon.
